I've had straight, soft, smooth hair all my life. The last 6 months its changed so much!! I have a health condition so suspect the meds Im on may have played a part - I now have curly hair, and I have no idea what to do with it or how to style it. Tried a few curly products and it still just looks a frizzy mess. Dont think curls suit me 😫What do I do? Saw my usual hairdresser yesterday and he cut a fair bit off since its also so dry now - and so of course its boinged up and is even curlier now. Help!

I don't have curly hair, but DD who does swears by this stuff for combatting frizz: https://www.boots.com/loreal-elvive-hydra-hyaluronic-acid-8-second-wonder-water-200ml-10322975

Stick curling cream in it and embrace them op!

My hair went curly when I hit menopause. I dry it straight and stay indoors when it's raining. 😅

I feel for you.

I’d hate it if my hair went straight overnight.

Mine has gone curly with age and I'm finding it easier to embrace the curls rather than straighten it as it just goes puffy.

With wet hair, I use a spray in conditioner, then scrunch in a small amount of mousse. Partially dry with a diffuser, when fully dry I then scrunch again to get rid of any crunchiness.

Loads of videos on tiktok or YouTube you could follow, some are a little extreme with loads of products being used and complicated routines. I just took bits from them and found what works for me.

It will be a case of finding what works for you, enjoy and embrace the new you

Never brush it when it's dry again, and don't touch it with your hands when it's drying.

My hair went from POKER straight to wavy and is now on its way to curly. I used to do all sorts of curly girl/wavy methods, with diffusing, but now I am lazier...

I get a handful of mousse, put a splodge of gel on top, mix it then run the combined products through my hair when it's soaking wet. I comb it through to make sure the product is root to ends - make sure your hair is dripping wet, can't emphasise this enough. Once my hair is smoothly brushed and coated with product, I swing my head upside down until curl clumps form, then gently scrunch it with a microfibre towel over my hands. This both forms waves/curls, and takes out excess moisture. Then I leave it to air dry, without touching it. It takes AGES to dry naturally without touching, but I only do it once a week.

Once it's dry, I scrunch out any crunch.

Sometimes I will diffuse dry it but that takes ages too. I tend to wash my hair on a night that I'm staying in, and just let it dry while I'm watching tv. For the first time in my life, I understand where the 'not tonight, I'm washing my hair' thing came from. I genuinely have to schedule washing my hair now.

BUT I don't touch it at all with a brush or anything else during the rest of the week.
