I feel pretty broken today and needed to get it down in writing.

We are due to be evicted in January as our landlady died. The family took six months to issue with a Section 21.

Meanwhile rent for 3 bed houses has gone up by £500 pcm to £1300 a month, half my husband’s take home pay after student loan, tax, national insurance, etc.

I have chronic long term health conditions and care for my adult child so cannot work. My husband has a serious mental health condition and serious immune disease but does work. Neither of us can earn more.

Our housing application was cancelled by the council. Our homeless application and council house application were in two different names (mine and husbands) due to Accommodation Finding Team at the council. Had to reapply in October.

We are now facing being homeless in a hotel in the next few months. Dreading telling the 25 year old who self harms and has attempted suicide before .

We have pets that were acquired way before difficulties with my husband’s health or my conditions worsened. Don’t know what will happen to the animals as we have nobody to take them. Adult child is autistic and so attached.

Woken this morning with a sense of dread and cannot continue to be positive and hopeful. Thank you for listening.

That sounds very hard.

Would you be up for posting your plight in a local fb group and appealing for an understanding landlord? Somebody did it in ours this morning (disabled man with 2 pets) and has already received a couple of offers.
