Quick Colonoscopy prep question - not sure it is working? TMI alert!

So I have a colonoscopy booked for 1pm tomorrow. I took a dosage at 6pm, and little has changed. I feel nauseas but I only been to the loo 3 times. Still fairly formed etc.

i think I have to be expelling clear liquid in order for the C
to work. But I will be taking another dose at 6am .

does this sound ok? I was expecting something so much more dramatic, but there is tomorrow morning too.

does anyone have experience of this - will it fully clear after the second dose. Really don’t want to have
to defer it.

I am following the instructions to the letter.

does this all seem normal?

thank you!

That is what happened to me. The morning dose was the magic bulletConfused

The drama will start shortly after 6am! I hope that it all goes well for you.

I was the same the first time I had to do prep. First dose I wondered what all the fuss was about. Second dose did the trick! If you’ve followed the hospital instructions you will be fine. You don’t need to be expelling clear liquid to have good prep.

Good luck with the procedure OP.

good luck, it is not pleasant. no one warned me about how my stomach would be after, was up all night as so gurgley.

Hi @CatherineCawoodsbestie hope things are on the move now!

I had a colonoscopy a few weeks ago (have had quite a few in my time...) and the nurse said they don't mind how or when we take the prep, just get it down! So next time, if there is one, I'm going to start much earlier than the instructions say and take both preps before I go to bed.

Just a word of warning, you may still be going to the toilet up until you go in for the procedure. The nurses aren't bothered as they such any excess out as the doctor is carrying out the camera action!

Good luck! 🤞

That’s interesting to know and I will do that if I need a further one.

operation clearance is definitely working now! 😂😂

Another one who chugs back the prep ignoring the timing instructions! I take the first one as quickly as I can get it into me, then the second one about two or three hours before I'm supposed to. That gives me a bit of confidence that it's ALL OUT before I get to the procedure!

Important to space them though I'd say, but others may have chugged the two preps together. I don't think I could do that!

If it's any consolation my mum had to have several and didn't feel awful. She actually said she felt better and cleansed after the prep!

Don't worry and just take the stuff. Your body will do it's thing! It may not be too painful or unpleasant as it wasn't for my mum.
