Anyone else growing their hair colour out?

I’ve been growing my hair colour out now for 3 months approx 3inches of regrowth, and it’s getting to the point it’s getting on my nerves, the reason for doing it is, I’ve started getting sparkle white strands and I want to grow it out before I get that solid line of white….in the light it looks awful, ash brown hair with now burgundy mid lengths and coppery ends. I bought that Glaze stuff from Superdrug, it was pants, didn’t make a difference at all. Are there any fantastic clarifying shampoos or shampoo that breaks down the colour molecules, I really don’t want to attempt a bleach wash on myself, thanks for any reply’s

How long is your hair? I have grown mine out and it looked much better when I had a load of the old faded colour cut off the ends.

If you have the budget for it, a hairdresser could dye your ends something closer to your natural colour to help it blend more, without touching your root.

Thanks for replying, I keep having the ends taken off mine, my hairs curly so if I have to much taken off it looks horrible. Well usually colour it myself I’ve been putting a semi on for a few years ready for this stage of growing it out. I can’t justify the price of salons these days so i need a solution that I can diy.

Me. I have had blonde highlights for 30 years or so and stopped maybe 12-18 months ago - I can’t actually remember! I have gone from long hair to a blunt bob and am probably 70% natural now with blonde ends. My natural hair is so soft and shiny compared to the blonde. I have a silver streak in my parting and lots around my hairline but I am definitely looking more brunette these days. I use the L’Oréal root spray to cover my streak for work, otherwise I just leave it. I think the blonde should be gone in the next 6 months and my hair will be swishy again (hopefully)

I have bought some of the L’Oréal root touch up for over Christmas as I’m away, it’s hard going growing it out isn’t it, I’ve been ok for ages but now that the lights are on in the shops etc I look terrible but i am determined to not re colour it this time ,you’ve done really well, I’ve been colouring my hair for probably that long to, I’ll be glad when mines nearly out, I’ll just have to keep chopping a bit off every few weeks to get rid of it.

My hairdresser recommended using head and shoulders to fade out old colour, but honestly if it's red/copper tones you're trying to disguise, anything clarifying will just fade them and make them more orangey looking.

I know it's hard but if you can't justify a hairdresser, I would just try and put up with the re-growth.
