Obviously nobody is winning it because the £150 million is mine, but how would everyone else spend it? I love dreaming up things like this, I have a full blown plan

I’ll go first then if nobody else will bite 😂 I’d fly off on a luxury holiday after investing 2/3 of it, come back for Christmas, sort out my family (2 million each) and then I’m travelling the world

Make sure family and friends are sorted financially then lots of luxury holidays. I’d love to rent out a huge castle for all my family to spend Christmas at and then another trip to Florida for everyone, done in real luxury. When everything has calmed down, I would also like to spend six months in Hawaii with a beach front house and a ton of books.

I live in the States so we have some huge jackpots here -into the billions sometimes (though taxed) so this is a regular fantasy of mine.

My issue is, I think if my family knew the whole story they’d be constantly asking for money. So I’d need to downplay the amount I actually won

I think thats what I'd do.
Family and friends and then see the world.

I would set up a massive animal sanctuary and employ/give work experience to neurodiverse teens.

That's my dream.

Justaminuteplease · 08/12/2025 10:10

For myself - luxury holidays, new wardrobe, the best restaurants and homes

For others - I'd enjoy spreading money out via something like gofundme, picking ordinary people to get little windfalls. And lots of money to family and friends.

Snakehips47 · 08/12/2025 10:13

Pay off my two daughters mortgages get their houses in tip top condition , get my elderly neighbours house sorted for her, get friends gardens landscaped, a new stairlift for friends mum, put some new flooring in my cold kitchen, leave the heating on all day, have a family holiday to Disney World , Universal studios etc, have a new Conservatory built on my Bungalow, extend my little garage, buy myself a restored vintage Austin 7, maybe an old Norton Motorcycle, give surprise gifts to unsuspecting people. It would be nice to have a lady in my life that didn’t know i had millions of £££££ after being alone for 20 years .

tanstaafl · 08/12/2025 10:25

I’m interested in how posters plans might be different depending on their age.
In my 30s I would have wanted a big house, flash cars, now at 60, not interested in flash cars ( uncomfortable! ) , I’d settle for something non flash but with a good driving position, space and an automatic.
Back then it would be about investing for the long term and such, now, it’d be about enjoying life , good tickets at Wimbledon, F1 at Monaco, those sort of things.
but the dream is a boat in the Med to visit ports on the different islands. Family can stay on it when I’m not.

I’m in my 20s, I’d be investing a huge amount because it means an income of £300k a month minimum!

id also be off to the f1 at Monaco, and probably travel round the world following it for a year

I’m 35. I’d just buy myself and my girls a house, give my shitty STBExH half to fuck off and never bother me again. The rest i’d work out later, but invest, a holiday (might even go for a treehouse at centre Parcs in August!), the house I buy would have enough land for stables so I could buy me and my daughter a horse each. A massive flash house and cars don’t bother me, I’d buy a bigger/newer car than my 10 year old fiesta, but nothing too flashy.

Hoolahoophop · 08/12/2025 11:37

Some kind of investment trust thing that pays out interest equally every year to myself, siblings, in-law siblings, some back into the trust and charity. I think we would be talking about 6 Million interest on that so thats a million a year for each family, plus some for charity and some back in to grow the pot. Should keep us comfy in retirement.

But initially take out 1m for each unit in immediate family to spend how we like. DH would like a fancy holiday, we would both like a bigger garden and house extension (love the location so wouldn't move) and I would like a tiara, heirloom diamonds to rival the queen.

Oh maybe new cars, ours are a bit broken.

whatsnewpussycat34 · 08/12/2025 11:38

Gorgeous homes for my family and holidays with lump sums to see them able to quit working if they wanted.

Then I’d donate a lot to a few different charities and set up a little tea room that was free for old folks to come and spend the day making friends and eating whatever they wanted.

SardinesOnGingerbread · 08/12/2025 11:44

I'd commit to giving 90% away and I'd leave my job to set up a charitable foundation focusing predominantly on additional opportunities for children from lower socio economic backgrounds in the UK. I'd love it.

OverlyFragrant · 08/12/2025 11:45

Sort my teeth out, buy a London bolthole, a retreat in the pyrenees and spend my life doing whatever the hell I want when I want.

angelos02 · 08/12/2025 11:48

I'd live on a fully staffed yacht for about 6 months pootling around beautiful sunny remote islands pondering what to spend the money on long-term.

IBorAlevels · 08/12/2025 11:53

Hmm £150m....
£1m each to my 5 closest friends
£1m in savings for kids.
£1m into property reno and a small cottage somewhere (£250k ish)
£1m for retirement and upkeep of the above properties.

The rest I would give to a female health charity that does research and all female start up's. Invest in the future!

JillyJoy · 08/12/2025 11:56

@OverlyFragrant I might be near you in the Pyrenees when I win. Never have to queue in an airport again. Private Charter.
Set up special projects with existing charities, Help the Aged or Salvation Army.
They already know how to do things.
Dream over: Back to a Zoom at 12.00

annonymousse · 08/12/2025 11:57

I fantasise about giving my girls the means to buy their dream houses, to go part-time or give up work and travel, to pay off the mortgages of my close friends, share with my sisters and try and make a difference through charities. I think with that amount of money I would give 75% to charity and divide the rest equally between my family that way there's no resentment that someone has more than someone else and no freeloading (looking at you BIL)

Mirrorxxx · 08/12/2025 11:59

Donate a lot to animal charities.
travel the world with my husband and dog.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 08/12/2025 12:01

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 08/12/2025 12:03

give my shitty STBEXH half to fuck off

Don’t! Get much joy from rubbing it in his face!

yeahimawrongun · 08/12/2025 12:11

I have a list of things once family and friends are sorted -
Local primary school that my child went to - see what they need
Local secondary school - same again
I then want to stand at the checkouts in morrisons and pay for everyone's shopping for a day - I think that would be fun.
There is local charity who make sure all kids in need (through referrals from schools, SS etc.) get Christmas presents so I'd like to make sure they are adequately supported for several years.
I'd then like to invest in some property to be able to house some of those who need it most until they're back on their feet.
For myself I just want a secure home that no one can ever take from me.
To keep myself busy I'd like a little bookshop with a tea room attached.
I dream about this quite often and basically I'd like to be Father Christmas for a while.
Fingers crossed it's me tomorrow

NorthXNorthWest · 08/12/2025 12:30

Get a personal trainer
Spend it on experiences

HelpMeGetThrough · 08/12/2025 12:47

I’d change my phone number and leg it.

Walker1178 · 08/12/2025 13:15

I’d be dropping money into friends and family accounts left, right and centre but DP has said absolutely not. We fly to a nice quiet beach, sit in the sun and make a proper plan. I’m happy to run with his his idea
