Do you give your adult godchildren presents?

My godson has just turned 27, I’ve always sent him Christmas and Birthday presents but I was wondering whether he was too old to still be getting gift tokens. He and his wife both have very well paid jobs so it would be a drop in the ocean money wise. Are cards enough?

I would think it would depend on how close you are to your Godchild, how much you would like to give a gift to them at Christmas and your financial situation, as to a giving a moderately priced gift that will be appreciated.

In my own situation my godmother, by then elderly, gifted me and my DH with a Christmas card and £10 every Christmas.
When we had our DCs, she would give us the card and the money and to our DC she would give little boxes of chocolates.
We always appreciated being remembered by her at Christmas.

However if you feel that whatever you can give will be a drop in the ocean money-wise, and that they are the type of people who wouldn't appreciate a smaller gift, then I would think a card would be sufficient.

Thank you for answering. I’ve decided to send a small food hamper for him and his wife.
