Christmas party for 8 year olds, ideas?

I'm planing a Christmas party for my DD (8) and 4 of her friends, all girls, all between 7 and 9 yo, 3 hrs at our house. I've got a young lady (16yo) who sits for us sometimes to help out.

I'd like some party ideas that you've tried and were a success? I've got a limbo dancing kit, gingerbread decoration kits but I'm really not sure what else to do? DD is friends with all the girls but the girls don't know each other as they come from different areas and activities that DD does.

Donuts on a string, wrapping each other up in toilet rolls- could say turning each other into snowmen, and a treasure hunt in the garden with glow in the dark toys all went down well at a Halloween party for those ages recently.

Also eating chocolate with a knife and fork while wearing hat and gloves could be fun!
