Vinted is this a scam?

Bought a complete Lego set from vinted. Counted all the pieces and 20 pieces are missing. Seller says they will send the remaining pieces if I give them my address - is this a scam?

If its some weird bloke with no reviews... maybe.

If its a mum with 396 5 star review probably not... they are jist being nice / decent

Your other option are:
Ask them to list the 20 pieces amd pay £1 plus p&p.
Return the package due to missing pieces.

It is a person with 7 reviews. There’s just something off about it. I suggested a partial refund for the missing pieces which they declined and they are offering to pay the postage back if I return it. Which would save them £1.50. It’s taken over a week to get to this place and just feels odd

No, it's not as listed, can you report them Vinted?

If you dont like it and they are offering a refund and to pay for postage I'd just take it

Seems odd to send a incomplete lego set but keep the 20 pieces? No?

I'd just return it

What lego set was it?

youhadmeatsausageroll · 07/12/2025 22:48

Can you ask them to post it to an InPost and you can pick it up from there? Just use one that isn’t close to your house if you’re concerned about sharing your address

So just return it since they’re willing to pay for the return.

Moltenpink · 07/12/2025 22:56

How do they know which 20 pieces?

professionalhomebody · 07/12/2025 23:17

Have you already marked the sale as complete for the funds to be released to the seller?

SizeableBadBoys · 08/12/2025 00:33

Why have they still got the remaining pieces?

Why have they still got the remaining pieces?

That’s what seems awfully fishy to me!!

InLoveWithAI · 08/12/2025 00:37

They've offered to pay return postage, I don't understand the issue?

Jjustsancs · 08/12/2025 00:53

Probably not

Friendlygingercat · 08/12/2025 00:57

Surely the seller has your address to post the parcel! I sell on Ebay and they supply the address to be shipped to as soon as the buyer pays. Some people use a box number (in the USA) but thats rare.

Not necessarily. Maybe the OP used a locker or a shop to collect from rather than have it delivered to her home address. Locker/shop collection is very popular for Vinted users in the UK.
