Last minute date night -London/ Essex area

Me and DH have a last minute date night opportunity tonight. I was thinking maybe we could drive to Canary Wharf and have a look around, it’s about 40 minute drive for us. Haven’t been there in ages so not sure if there’s anything on. Anyone got any nice suggestions? Don’t mind a little bit of a drive. Thanks so much

Boisdale is a nice venue in Canary Wharf that often has music either live or dj sets

At the other end of the culture scale from Boisdale there is a huge games arcade and a Weatherspoons in a beautiful old building. Or catch a boat up the Thames. The lot up bridges are beautiful.

Oh yes is that Fairgame? Always wanted to try that. I did think about driving into central but we’re taking the kids in a few weeks so think I’ll hold off till then

There is a nice Italian restaurant there if you do decide to go in, though I am not sure if everything opens at the weekends. Amerigo Vespucci.
