Any kids from the 70/80/90's remember fan clubs?

Does anyone remember how you could be a member of a fan club? You would write in and they would send you a fan club badge and newsletters etc 😂

I remember loving Five Star and my mum getting me fan club membership which I thought was so cool. A members pack, a letter from 'the band' and cool badges.

Was anyone else in one?

In the 80s I was a member of the Duran Duran and Depeche Mode fan clubs. Dave Gahan's girlfriend (later his wife) ran the Depeche Mode one. I used to sent gig photos and she'd get them signed (or maybe she signed them herself)!
