Where did you meet your significant other and how long have you been together?

Just wondering, as I met my other half on a dating site and we’ve been together 7 years.

I first met him down the pub about 40 years ago when we were teenagers. Together 26 years, married 12 years.

In my dad's local, and we've been together 22 years.

We met at Sunday school aged 4. The church was the ‘family’ church for both our families - we lived in different parts of our home town. I absolutely loathed him as a child as he was a little horror who took great delight in pulling my pigtails.

Then he turned up at work as the trainee…we went on a big Christmas do lunch and were the only ones left at the end, so went to a different pub for another drink and that was that…my mum was hysterical with laughter when I took him home for the first time as she knew I hated him as a child and I’d only told her his first name so she hadn’t clicked.

Been together 32 years now and married for 29.

Local nightclub in 1980, married since 1981, so 44 years.

We met at work, we've been together for 28 years.

College 31 years ago (married 25)

We met in school age 16. Got together properly at 20 and been together ever since. So 26 years now.

Met through friends over 20 years ago.

First met aged 11 at secondary school. Sat behind him in Y9-11 English, then we went to different colleges after GCSE’s - VIth form for me, and tech college for him to do an engineering course. After a year, he came to the VIth form cause tech teachers were rubbish. He ended up correcting the maths teacher’s calculations.

Re-joined our friendship group that had mostly come from our old school, and 6 months later, during A level mocks week, he asked me to the pub. I thought he meant the whole gang were going. Nope, just the two of us, and two lads from school that we had both known from school quite well. Around 10pm, they slunk off to their respective homes mumbling something about revision (ON A SATURDAY EVENING!!), and it was just us two.

That was 32 years ago in Feb, married after I finished teacher training 27 years ago. No kids by choice. Currently 1 cat, soon to be 2.

I was on the way to meet friends at the cinema and he followed me down the road and started chatting to me 😅 we were 14 then, 21 years ago now…we were on and off throughout our teens; ended up both marrying other people in our early 20s; we’d always stayed friends but only in very sporadic contact. Both coincidentally got divorced in the same year, started chatting more regularly and the rest is history. Been together 5 years now and he is absolutely my one.

At a leaving do (in a pub) for friends of friends who were going travelling 27 years ago. Neither of us knew the people who were going travelling - and we haven’t seen them since!

We met in a bar. I worked there and he was a customer.
When I had nights off, I’d still go there to have a couple of drinks with friends and we started chatting. 😊
We’ve been together for 10 years and married for 8!
Still very happy and very much in love!

Dating site almost 20 years ago. My life would have been so much easier if I’d have met him 15 years earlier, but then I wouldn’t have the kids I have.

We met on the very first night of uni in the Student Union Bar. We were just friends at first cos I had a boyfriend at the time. I broke up with my bf for my husband. We have been together 20 years this year married for 5 years.

We met on a street corner opposite his best friend’s house. In 1983. We were together for most of our teens and then split up. We married different people and when we got divorced we re-met and have been together nearly 20 years.
