That's lovely, OP.

My parents always made my dd feel like their home was her second home. I loved them for being so welcoming, and it really helped them to bond.

Lemonysnickety · 06/12/2025 11:04

Love it hopefully in the future I get to do similar. Excited thinking about it.

Harvestmoons · 06/12/2025 11:14

What a lovely thread, hope your DGS has many happy sleepovers OP

2dogsandabudgie · 06/12/2025 12:54

Looks lovely OP. Sleepovers at grandparents are the best.

BaronessBomburst · 06/12/2025 14:12

I really like it, especially the wall torches.

ByQuaintAzureWasp · 06/12/2025 14:18

You should be very proud. Great work!

Hetty6 · 06/12/2025 14:58

Oh that's so cute 🥰

Some of my most vivid memories from childhood are the sleepovers I used to have at my gran's, in the unicorn room she made up for me. He'll always remember this room!

That's lovely OP! Your grandson is very lucky.

Nice to see so many replies from people who aren't in the "why does she want to have him overnight?" and "she's had her turn at parenting, tell her to butt out" camp which seems to prevail on MN and then they wonder why they have no "village"

whiteroseredrose · 06/12/2025 17:41

That looks great. How hard was putting in the stud wall?

It wasn't to bad. It took me a long time. Because im not very strong i had to cut the plaster board smaller so that meant more joints meaning more wooden studs i really hurt my shoulder whilst doing it that took weeks to get better still not right now. It was worth it though.

That’s amazing well done! How did you learn to do this stuff? Was it one room made into two?
It does look lovely and very cosy and relaxing with those lights.

Merseymum1980 · 06/12/2025 20:08

Omg that's brilliant that you did that yourself. Jesus I wish I was handy like that, you really don't know how many amazing memories you are giving him. I seriously hated staying over in my grans house, cold, dark and Feckin creepy. I appreciate it was a long time ago but those memories are etched into my brain. Well done
