Knowledgable Laptop Folk!

Hi!

My 16yr old has asked for a laptop for Christmas to do school work on. He goes to college next year too so figured it’d also be good for that.

I am looking in the under £200 range as money is tight!

Can any give recommendations with this budget?… I’ve noticed Crome books are cheaper. Can you still access windows and teams on these?

He’ll probs want it for general online stuff too. But not gaming

Something refurbished rather than new will give you a better laptop for that budget. Backmarket is good.

Under £200 will be tough, but this is a really good price and Asus are a brilliant make and you can pay it off over 6 months.

Chromebook's have some limitations. You can access MS apps but only online and not installed. I would second the poster above who suggested a second hand one with a better spec!

my daughter has this one - she’s in year 13 and uses it for school and it serves her well. She doesn’t game on it though so not sure if spec would be ok for that?

Try WWW. IJTDIRECT.CO.UK when I looked the refurbished Lenovos were a very good price and most of then came with Win 11 Pro, not the crappy home edition.

I've had a couple of refurbished ones from companies on Ebay. Never had an issue with them.
