Horrible virus-anyone else suffering too?

Caught a virus and goodness me, the fatigue is off the scale. Muscle aches, headaches, joint pain but no coughing or snot. I feel dreadful. I have auto-immune issues so may be feeling it more but have largely been bed bound most of this week and I'm pretty miserable.

There's a lot of it about atm I know, anyone else suffering right now?

In the absence of any congestion, cough, sore throat or upset stomach, I would be thinking there’s something else going on, especially as you already have an autoimmune illness.

Maybe time to make a GP appointment?

Sympathy, it sounds very nasty. Is your temperature raised?

MrsMacYorkie · 05/12/2025 13:36

I had something very similar a few weeks ago. Compared notes with a few friends that also caught it, all said the same thing, muscle aches, temperature and as you say fatigue off the scale, but no sore throat, cough or snot. Oddly I have developed a cough a couple of weeks later - no idea if it’s the same thing hanging around or a separate bug! But the symptoms you describe are definitely doing the rounds. Tuck up and take it easy, hopefully you’ll feel better soon.

A virus went round our office, headaches, fevers, awful tiredness - but no cold symptoms as such. I was off for 3 days, then working but going home and doing nothing except go to bed early, and now, a month later, am only just starting to feel I've got any energy back.

Kiki234 · 05/12/2025 13:40

My whole family had the same, the kids have been knocked out too. it's been 10 days and they are still exhausted.

I thought it was the flu. I know the flu jab hasn't been so effective this year. I've had mine and still managed to catch it.

BrownFlower2 · 05/12/2025 13:56

Nope no raised temperature, just a horrible feeling of malaise, a slight sore throat. Have been off work all week with it, no energy to do anything that needs doing. I hope it lifts soon.

I’ve got some weird thing at the minute - nausea every evening, funny taste in my mouth, bit of a runny nose and can’t stop sleeping

Daisypod · 05/12/2025 14:17

4 out of the 6 people in our house have exactly that at the moment, I’m praying I don’t get it as I e only recently got over shingles and really don’t want to be ill again! Hope you’re feeling better soon

It's the fatigue that is just so gruelling. I keep thinking I'm back to myself and then it hits me. Is it another COVID strain as I felt so fatigued with that and I have had my flu jab -/

DeanElderberry · 07/12/2025 07:20

It's got me now. Nuisance. I have a cough too. Slept nearly 12 hours and still woke up feeling grooo.

oh well.
