Concerning mole need reassurance, Pic included

So ive had a mole on my neck since childhood
Flesh coloured no issues,
Last few days ive noticed it is sore swollen and red
Seems to be getting worse
Had an appointment with the GP next week but wondering if I should see if I can be seen more urgently? Think it looks infected maybe, anyone have anything similar?
Any advice/reassurance would be appreciated

I don't think you need to be seen more urgently. Unless you have a temperature or the pain is severe.

That doesn’t look concerning in terms of cancer to me. It looks more like it’s been irritated by a collar or comb or similar. Have you tried putting mild steroid cream on it?

FastTurtle · 03/12/2025 19:40

Always worth getting these things looked at.

No haven't put anything on it,
We have a family history of skin cancer, both parents had it so a bit anxious now

It looks like it has been irritated, I have some raised moles and they can get a bit like that if irritated. I would probably just keep your appointment next week and hopefully it will subside
