Neighbours Parcel

We aren't friends with our neighbour.
Following a boundary dispute they tried to kick our door in and we have had quite a few verbal run ins.

We don't speak or acknowledge each other.

Today I picked up 2 parcels in our usual Amazon safe space brought them in and left them while I dealt with some other jobs.
I've just opened them and didn't recognise the contents thinking 'how odd I don't recall ordering these'.As I was breaking down the boxes I noticed they are for our neighbour.

My DH, has severe MH issues aggravated by their past behaviour and I dare not tell him.
I am not going round there BC I'm at home alone.
Equally I'm scared they will realise we've taken the parcels in and cause problems.

Added complication we are not at home tonight as having some work done so sleeping at relatives.

I'm just going to leave the parcels in our locked porch for now, any suggestions how I proceed are welcome.

Just put them back where yoou got them

CatsorDogsrule · 03/12/2025 17:25

Put them on their doorstep/ somewhere relatively safe. Ring the bell and leave

MaggiesShadow · 03/12/2025 17:25

Put them back in the safe space?

tipsyraven · 03/12/2025 17:26

I would write opened in error on them and put them back.

Presumably the safe space is somewhere like down the side of OP’s house or behind her wheelie bin. And she’s crushed the boxes.

peonysinthesun · 03/12/2025 17:28

Sellotape the box back together, pop them back in and seal and leave on their doorstep.

MaryBCH · 03/12/2025 17:29

Leave them in the safe place- if it is your own private place, leave them for the neighbours to find them. If it is a joint safe space, then be careful in future to read the labels closely!
I wouldn’t worry about having opened them- perhaps you can seal them again with some sellotape. Who is to know they were opened by you?

nayals · 03/12/2025 17:31

I would ask another friendlier neighbour or friend to take the parcels round and leave on their step

This, I think I can fit both in one box and rebuild it, maybe . Label missing.

To put it back wiukd mean them coming onto our property, my DH would lose plot..

Sellotape purchase on way back there tomorrow. I just hope NDN hasnt tracked them to our house, would be obvious on any tracking photo.

Rebuilt one of the boxes, with label still in tact.
Put both items in and resealed.

Waited til they were out and took the box round and left it on their driveway.
Did have to cover it with a bag though BC pouring with rain.

No sign of anyone reacting l to it.

Nothing was said, I don't think DH noticed either.
Phew, will double check parcel names next time.

I would have just taken them round. There wasn’t going to be any agro by you giving them a parcel.
