Yoto

until today I never realised that a yoto player existed and I’ve had a quick look and it seems like an ideal Christmas present for my two. Does anyone recommend them? I’m hoping my kids can share it. What is the difference between a yoto and a tonies box? I hadn’t heard of that either 🙈

How old are your kids? Generally a yoto is better for age 5 plus, and tonies better for younger kids.

3 and 7 x

If they’re sharing then I’d go for the yoto then. Tonies would be a bit young for the 7 year old. The yoto cards have a better range for older children with actual book series.

Yes to the Yoto! My eldest got one just before he turned two and has listened to it literally every day since. My youngest will get one this Christmas.

They are a little more expensive up front than the tony box, but grow better with the kids. The content is cheaper too, and they are easier to travel with. I literally cannot recommend it enough.

I’d get them a Yoto mini each - they can have them in their rooms then for bedtime etc. Don’t need a big one. Mini is fab - we had a large one originally and then swapped to two minis. The variety of stories is excellent, podcasts are fab. Couldn’t recommend enough. We’ve had them since youngest was 2 and they are 6 now and still used daily (and nightly!)

Thanks everyone! I can’t believe I didn’t know about them!

I think my 2 were a bit younger when we got our first yoto (the big one), they have minis now too for holidays. My eldest is 11 now and still listens to it every night, it's lasted well! Highly recomend them.

I'm sure there will be codes on the referal thread for a discount but keep an eye on the website as they often do deals!

They share a room so hopefully they can both get some use out of it. I’ve been looking around, they seem to cost around £100 does that seem right? Wasn’t sure if I should wait and see if they go a little bit cheaper in the January sales. I’m not sure

We use ours every day almost. We just have 1 and they share. Also love the "make your own" cards for music or stories we have read out loud and recorded.
