Fun events you do in your local community

I feel things are really bleak in the news and everyone has so much anger towards one another.

I need some reassurance that not everyone hates eachother. Tell me about events you've done in your local area that you've really enjoyed.

In the summer we went to a colours event done by the local Hindu association as we had so much fun with the colours and the dancing and the music

The Village Show in the summer is always brilliant.

I should add that I don't think everyone hates me.

Around here- carol singing, wreath making class, local silver band concert, book swap/sale, quiz nights, summer bbq at village hall, plant sale, late shopping with mulled wine and mince pies in small town where there’s loads more community events all year round.

As a brown woman, I think it is important to be involved in local community, given the current climate. Not everyone has the time but my kids are adults, so I have been getting out and about.

I don't celebrate Xmas as such, as I am not Christian, but I attend carols in the local church because it's lovely.
