How's your geographical knowledge?

Namely, the countries of the world? I just did this quiz and got 157/197!

https://www.sporcle.com/games/g/world

I'm confident I could pinpoint about 50 of those and could probably give you a few facts about them. Maybe 50 more I could give a good guess as to where they are. Another 50 I could tell you the continent, and that'd be it. The last 7 I just know they're somewhere in the world and it's anybody's guess as to where! I know shockingly little about Europe, Anything east of Austria or Italy I'm very vague on. We didn't really 'do' Geography at school - it was all 'sustainability', 'tectonic plates' and 'long-shore drift', nothing about the actual countries, resources and people there. My New Year's resolution to the educate myself on geography of the world.

My record was about 140ish many years ago. But it's been a while since I did some geography sporcle quizzes.

I could probably do all England counties and US states without hesitation.

Ghostlygirl · 02/12/2025 22:43

I got 103!

PinkPepperPolka · 02/12/2025 23:03

I got bored

B0D · 02/12/2025 23:08

I was working my way through and got times out

MissisBee · 02/12/2025 23:27

I used to do these sporcle quizzes all the time and could name all the countries. Wouldn't necessarily be able to point to them all on a map but would have a rough idea. Could probably manage a good proportion of capitals. Ask me about counties and towns in England though and I'm stumped 🤦‍♀️

Ha! I can't even work out how to play it! I doubt I'd get more than 50%.

KojaksLollipop · Yesterday 03:39

I can name them all and pinpoint them all on the map. When I turned 50, I did a list of ‘50 things to do at 50’ and learning was one of my things, lol

Anarchy99 · Yesterday 03:43

I could probably name two or three at a push

Love sporcle, will look at the other link, thanks

I love Sporcle and can get 100% on this game. Have you tried the Flags of the World game there? I always think the knowledge will
come in handy somehow.

Koala17 · Yesterday 07:54

I’ve travelled to over 100 countries so could pretty confidently point to any specific country on a map.

Ah that’s probably why - I have been to one country apart from the UK, hence why I struggled

Theroomwhereithappens · Yesterday 14:33

I got 173. Pretty pleased with that!

igelkott2026 · Yesterday 16:43

I like the name the city quizzes. Got to 1000 in the UK once and 300 in Germany.

And there's one where you name the top 100 cities. There's ALWAYS an obvious one I forget! Not sure they are all on Sporcle.

My son loves that one and is very good at flags.
