Feels like I'm being strangled.

Started off with a feeling of a lump in my throat in September and heartburn. I've had heartburn before but never with the lump feeling. Dr gave me lansoprazole. Didn't look at throat. I stopped taking it for 2 weeks in order to do the H.pylori test which was negative. Started re-taking the lansoprazole but the lump sensation is now awful. I have burning pain in chest and my ears are blocked and throbbing. It literally feels like I'm being strangled. Help

Ask for a capsule sponge test.

I had a 'lump' in my throat. It felt like small bits of food were getting stuck. The same with tablets. It was due to the upper sphincter in my throat not closing properly.
I had to take lansoprazole daily, plus Gaviscon Advance last thing at night after toothbrushing.
I also had to lay off fruit juice and fizzy drinks, both of which irritate it.
After a few weeks, things settled down. I hope you get things resolved.

Thank you. I'm trying not to panic as no doubt it makes things worse.

It probably does. I remember feeling very worried.
I'd like to say I'm surprised no one has even looked at your throat, but not any more I'm afraid!
Hit the Gaviscon (make sure it's Advance, not normal or double action) and see how you get on. It certainly can't hurt, even if you seek further medical advice.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
