How to deal with annoying colleague?

I have this colleague, can't call her a workmate.
She's so annoying. If I say anything she loves to contradict or try to make me look daft. I've stood up to her and do sometimes react assertively but she hasn't changed. She also likes to suck up to the bosses.
Thing is she has nothing to be proud of. Makes loads of errors. Is out smoking lots. Everyone moans about her bossiness. She's had warnings.
Luckily I don't work with her that much but I might have to see her again soon?
Any tips on retorts welcomed. O should I just ignore? That's hard for me. TIA

You could answer with I wasn't asking for your opinion/input.

If she keeps doing it I would simply stop talking to her.

Thanks I'll check her out. I can be quite fiery so am worried I'll lose it. She'll get the sympathy then as she'll cry.

I also work with an annoying colleague who attempts to undermine me by unnecessarily copying my boss into emails when I have made the occasional minor error . She also enjoys putting me down.
I attempt the grey rock method & try to distance myself from her.
