Flu, how to cope??

I’m on day 3. I haven’t eaten or slept since Saturday. My throat and chest are agony from all the coughing. Moving rooms to get a drink or go to the loo takes forever. I have no strength, I feel awful, and everything aches.

I have two children off school with it too but can barely look after myself. DH is a farmer and can’t not do this weeks jobs without wrecking lambing time, so he can’t stay inside and look after me. He doesn’t do sympathy anyway.

A couple of friends have offered to help but I don’t want to give it to them. Plus the house is an absolute tip I don’t want anyone to see it.

I’m just feeling sorry for myself and need some tips on getting through this. And a pat on the head 😭

I'd get the kids in the same bed. Flu meds, tissues, water, biscuits and then all collapse.

Or put on a sheep costume and hope dh is kinder to the lambs

If you genuinely have flu and your husband thinks it's ok to leave you in charge of two children then I would be seriously questioning why I was married to him.

As for getting through your friends won't give a shit that your house is a tip. Take the help and be grateful they give more of a shit about you and your kids than your husband does.

Get your DH to make some soup for you all before he starts work, and then just all going a bed or sofa together and put films in the whole day.
