Does anyone know anything golf please?
I’m wanting to buy my DH a golf towel, the type you hang off the golf buggy and one of those watch type things that show distances. I’ve got absolutely no idea where to start and what I should be getting. I’d really appreciate any advice on what to get as I don’t want to ask him.

I got my DH exactly this last year. It was personalised and I also bought him some lucky golf socks which, extraordinarily, have made him win more matches.

All off Amazon.

I can ask him tomorrow about the distance thing.

Is he a member of a golf club? You could go to your nearest one and look at the pro shop. It won’t be personalised to him but will have the club logo most likely

I once bought personalised golf tees with person's name on - i think from Not On The High Street.

Thanks so much for the replies.
RosieMilkJug….. thanks for the link. I’d really appreciate it if you can ask about the distance thing. I might get him some socks too, he definitely seems to need all the help he can get at the moment 😀
Thisisnotmyid he is a member of a club it his friend works there and I can’t rely on him not saying something, I really want this to be a total surprise.
Trampoline I’d thought about some golf tees, but I’m not sure on the height they need to be (not sure if it matters or not)

I have asked DH and he doesn’t have one of the distance watches. He uses a range finder which is like a mini radar. It zaps the flag and then tells you the distance and how far you need to hit the ball.

So not very helpful, I’m afraid.

RosieMilkJug · 02/12/2025 08:37

If your DH is anything like my DH, then he will be very fussy about his golf clubs and accessories. So whatever you get, keep the receipt for an exchange! Towels and socks should be OK but DH is very particular about his golf balls and tees.

Ak732087D · 02/12/2025 09:36

RosieMilkJug a range finder, actually I think that is probably what he needs. DH has never worn a watch (or owned a comb, but that’s another story 😄) and I don’t know if he’d get on with one on his wrist while playing golf. Would you be able to find out which one your DH has please?

DH uses an app on his phone that gives distances using GPS. And then… “Bushnell are the best brand but they’re over £300.” He says that if he was going to get one he would get a Redtiger for around £100.

Hope this is helpful. If you’re going to splash out then it might be best to go to the golf club shop, swear your friend to secrecy, but also do a deal where your DH can swap his gift for something else from the shop via credit note.

Thank you RosieMilkJug
