For about 30 people. Also to point out that I am a lifelong vegetarian so there will be no meat or fish (very usual for my get togethers so nobody will be surprised by this). I'd like to keep as finger food.

Spanakopita
Tomatoe tart tartin
Turkish bread
Olives
Houmous
Chickpea, chard & feta puffs with green harissa (posh veggie sausage rolls basically)
Stuffed vine leaves
Spinach and artichoke dip
Labneh and pistachio
potato salad
Green tabbouleh
Tarrallini
Cheeseboard, grapes & crackers
Brownies

Do i need more main / salad... anything else. As far as I know there are no GF people as know it's quite a wheaty / grainy menu

TIA

I'd like another dessert if it was possible...something like a lemon cheesecake, or mince pies with cream.

And an invite. I'd like an invite. Sounds delicious OP, hope you enjoy.

Noshowlomo · 02/12/2025 08:58

Yes!! LEMON CHEESECAKE

I’d also do a Caesar salad with a vegetarian dressing.

Letthemeatgateau · 02/12/2025 09:07

Sounds gorgeous. Would something brie and cranberry based work as a Christmassy item? Or your own version of this wreath?

GameOfJones · 02/12/2025 09:07

It does sound delicious!

I think you need a second dessert option. You can make a very easy fruit wreath with green grapes in a wreath shape, blackberries and raspberries dotted through it and some mint leaves for "foliage." That would be Christmassy, colourful and add another sweet option.

I also like a really simple winter coleslaw with red cabbage and walnuts..... but it isn't finger food.

Thank you - great suggestions 😊

I dont know why I clicked on this. Its never veggie and I'm veggie.

This is the best party menu I may have ever seen. Room for a little one?

I agree and may copy your menu.

How do you eat potato salad with your fingers?

madaboutpurple · 03/12/2025 01:23

It is making me feel hungry and I would love to have that for a meal and usually I am not a veggie.

CheeseIsMyIdol · 03/12/2025 01:30

Have some dill pickles beside the olives.

Perhaps some dishes of nuts.

Looks great.

Words · 03/12/2025 03:59

The Mumsnet Huge Pot of Dahl and maybe a huge pot of tofu chilli to go with.

Words · 03/12/2025 04:00

Spanakopita is delicious but a massive faff to make if done properly.

Words · 03/12/2025 04:03

Sorry scrub round Dahl and chilli ( phew) as I see finger food only.
How about smoked salmon on blinis with cream cheese or s fish verboten?

MeAndMyGhost · 03/12/2025 04:17

Make Fattoush and decorate with pomegranate seeds on top. Delicious, ties in with the Med/Levanti theme and will look Christmassy!

LadyGreyandlemoncurd · 03/12/2025 05:05

This sounds totally delicious. It doesn’t really need anything else, but if you wanted a couple of extra additions then I’d probably also add a beetroot salad (this is fantastic: https://nadialim.com/beetroot-spiced-almond-date-and-feta-salad/ ) and/or Fattoush salad with pomegranate seeds. They’re both really colourful and fresh and would go well with your menu!

And an extra dessert option (https://www.theguardian.com/food/2020/sep/28/claudia-rodens-orange-and-almond-cake ) this would go well with your menu and is really easy to make.
Or a tray of baklava and a fruit platter.

TimeForATerf · 03/12/2025 05:19

This sounds awesome, I had to Google a couple of things and then it got even better!

DallasMajor · 03/12/2025 05:26

Yes to pomegranate and cranberries, both make it more festive and fit.

Whipped feta, I am still obsessed with it and it goes great with your meal. And some posh bread sticks for all the dips. (Cut in half to stop double dipping)

It's DH's signature dish so leaving this up to him :)

These both look lovely, also love the idea of baklava and we have a Turkish supermarket near us so can take super easy option there :)

Oooh make room for me then! 😋

WinterBerry40 · 03/12/2025 08:03

Lovely menu but you need more salad .
I'd also say sweet choice needs something else as well .

GoodQueenBess · 03/12/2025 08:29

May I suggest a green leafy salad with no beetroot or feta. Not all vegetarians like it.I find beetroot overpowering.

I like pomegranate, but not everyone does.

@Words , Also to point out that I am a lifelong vegetarian so there will be no meat or fish OP said clearly that there would be no fish.
