A game

Sherunswithwolves · 01/12/2025 00:51

Lots of fun in a big group if you're all teasing each other. Can be confusing but that's part of the fun. Doesn't really work in small groups.

Needmorelego · 01/12/2025 00:53

It's a card game.
I do get confused with the rules of the many spin off versions.
The only card game I am good at these days is snap.

Eggybreadwithnuts · 01/12/2025 01:00

But how do you play it

The aim of the game is to get rid of the cards in your hand.
You take turns to put a card down that matches the previous card by either colour or number.
If you don't have a suitable card you have to take one from the spares pile and if it's one that matches you get to put in down, if not you have to keep it.
Then there's special cards that you can use that do things like make the next player have to pickup 4 more cards, or miss a turn etc.
When you are down to your last card you have to say "Uno" but until you've put the card down you haven't won. You could then end having to take more cards if a "take 4 cards" is played so you are back to having several cards.
Eventually someone will play all their cards and they win.
(the spin off versions have more rules and special cards)

@JudgeBread it's Connect 4 that causes chaos in my house because someone the person losing always seems to "accidentally" knock the bottom so the pieces fall out 😂😂

We play it just us two and still love it
I think it works with two

Nincompoo · 01/12/2025 07:28

Dh and I never travel anywhere without uno, it’s a brilliant game for two people!

Sherunswithwolves · 01/12/2025 07:33

Fair enough 😄

I played it for the first time in a three and couldn't get the hang of it. Them in a group of eight+ and suddenly it all made sense (and was ace). I'll try it again in a two/three.

Sailininthechoppa · 01/12/2025 07:33

It's too complicated and I refuse to play it again.

ChristmasMantleStatue · 01/12/2025 07:35

Love uno. It's the only card game I understand.

Used to play on long train journeys with the DCs.

ChristmasMantleStatue · 01/12/2025 07:36

Also good for flights. In a way that bananagrams is NOT. [glares at DS1]

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 01/12/2025 07:43

We played this for endless hours in lockdown. They’re games just went on and on and on and on, 5 hours was the record😵‍💫

Also Dobble. My poor nerves struggle with that though.
