Surely "Digital Products" are a scam that doesn't exist?

On my small business TikTok I keep seeing "Digital Products" people. I feel that these must surely all be "buy a course"/MLM type scam things?

Anyone able to put me right if I'm wrong?

Or alternatively let me know if they have ever bought / sold anything that could be described as a digital product

Yeah it's just the new MLM. The idea is you pay for the product and it's just how to sell the product to other people. It sickens me that they particularly seem to be targeting single parents and those in debt.

It’s things like daily, weekly and monthly planners, meal planners, greetings cards, wallpapers for phone / iPad / laptop, ebooks, music, games, wall art, worksheets, colouring pages, templates for social media, worksheets, stock photography, courses..

Coaching courses can be a bit MLM.

Thanks! I've never knowingly bought a digital product, but I've got an idea now

I don't do it now, but used to sell my artwork as a print or a digital download. I was a self employed artist, wasn't part of any kind of MLM thing, so it's not always a scam. In fact I hadn't known about the MLM aspect until now.
I stopped the digital aspect because it became such a pain, you can't guarantee the printed outcome at the customer end.

Downloadable music or ebooks are digital products, software and computer games are a digital product, pdfs of knitting patterns are a digital product, downloadable movies are a digital product.

You get the idea.

There are plenty of junk digital products too, like dodgy make yourself a millionaire courses, but anything that can be downloaded could be described as a digital product.
