So I can't get a doctors appointment for two weeks

I have tried multiple times this week to ask for a cancellation

Headache above my left eye
Some bad vision

Headache comes at around 10am to 1pm

Very odd

Went to optician few weeks back all fine
No need got glasses

Had a really bad flu for 14 days and was out of action

This started just after the flu

I tried to book in for a private scan and I will pay them on the day but they want a doctors letter

I'm never sick
Was at the doctor 3 years ago

Sorry if this is a stupid post

Hi I’m sure it’s nothing serious, maybe a migraine, but I think a headache on one side and anything affecting your vision should be checked out. If you can’t get a GP appt (ask for an urgent / on the day appt if they do them) or I would call NHS24 and ask for advice. As I said, I’m sure nothing serious but worth getting checked.

Opticians can be really good at checking scans/ for any pressure on the optic nerve.

They said you didn't need glasses - did they note any change in your eyes at all.

Is it age related deterioration?

Have you had a recent blood sugar Hb1ac to check average blood sugars?

Any issues with sinuses after your illness?

Two weeks seems a reasonable timeframe - do a diary of your symptoms to take to the GPs when you get an appointment.

Meantime - advice and red flags are here:

Thank you so much guys

All clear from optician

Just 43 and they said return next year as it could be age related decline

Never had any trouble with sinus

How’s your blood pressure?

66babe · 29/11/2025 12:48

That would also be my question
how’s your B/p , are you drinking plenty and sleeping well

BillieWiper · 29/11/2025 12:55

Your sinuses are also in your forehead and next to your eyes so it could still be that.

It can manifest itself as migraine, blocked nose, foul odour, temperature, earache, even toothache.

I'd say it could be infection. Does it feel worse when you bend your head forwards?

Have you tried a steroid nasal spray?

Good idea. Speak to pharmacist as they might be able to look up your nose with a light or something? Or recommend other treatments.

Hope you feel better soon. I had sinus infection for about six months earlier this year off the back of a really bad winter cold. It's horrible. X

I get forehead/eye area headaches related to a neck muscle issue - cervicogenic headaches. They can also cause vision issues.
