Job search - where to find actual vacancies?

I'm frustrated with online search. Numerous websites and it's either just agencies fishing for data or some sort of scams. All the career fairs - just companies advertising themselves yet no vacancies.
What am I doing wrong?

What sector/ type of work are you after?

I really rate Total Jobs and Indeed, definitely available and real opportunities, have you tried these in your online search?

Solidarity ! It’s hard right now.

I used indeed to find about possible vacancies but then approached the companies directly, to find out if the job actually existed, and to highlight myself as a proactive candidate.
