Would This Offend/Annoy You?

This happened a while ago but it still plays on my mind so I would appreciate an outside opinion. I have an FB friend who travels a lot, which is great. For context she is early 60s & childless. I was FB friends with her DH too. Happened to comment on a photo taken on one of their short breaks “ Are you guys ever home?” & soon after her DH blocked me! I messaged her about it & she said not to take it to heart as he was removing several friends from his list. He did unblock me but didn’t add me again. If someone posted that on my page it wouldn’t bother me at all!

he's probably getting rid of all the people he added for no particular reason. I do that regularly.

So i wouldn't be annoyed by your comment, and i wouldn't be annoyed by him removing me.

My friend was tagged in the photo I commented on.

Yeah, I still would see it as his photo though? And you don’t really know him, or not well enough to judge whether he’s going to interpret a comment like that as critical. I do think he overreacted but I can see why he didn’t like your comment.

I wouldn't mind that message at all.

Me neither and I can be super sensitive!

then it is up to him to adjust his settings so that friends of people tagged in the photos can't comment. Because even if he hadn't been fb friends with OP, under most settings the tagged person's friends can comment. you have to change settings if you don't want that.

It does sound passive aggressive with a judgemental air 🤷🏻‍♀️

Haulage · 29/11/2025 10:36

My FiL would be very annoyed by you calling him a ‘guy’. He’s got a real problem with the word.

Mistyglade · 29/11/2025 10:38

I wouldn’t be remotely upset by that, it’s clearly a jokey comment. I don’t understand how people are so quick to be offended.

Largestlegocollectionever · 29/11/2025 10:45

I’d find it rude, no need to make such a judgey comment
