Morrisons savings stamps have to be spent by 31st December or you’ll lose them? Is this right.

My mother in law says she was told this yesterday but she’s half deaf and often hears things wrong. I can’t see them doing this with such short notice

Does anyone know?

Yes they do

TeapotCollection · 28/11/2025 08:31

Shit, that means we actually have to go to the supermarket in December 😫

Thanks for confirming

Surely the rules are published on the stamps, accompanying collection card if there is one, or on the Morrisons website?

If they don't tell you they expire, they'd have a hard job enforcing a non existent rule surely?

I am sure it will be fine she can maybe stock up her freezer. Or cupboards

TeapotCollection · 28/11/2025 08:56

Bjorkdidit I thought exactly the same

MIL says she was told they’re doing away with them completely and it’s use them or lose them

They will be putting everything on More card i imagine, just make sure she spends them.

MIL can easily spend hers as she goes every week, not so easy for us - we do all our shopping online and only very occasionally go to the store. Wouldn’t normally dream of going in December but looks like we’re going to have to

Oh it is for you sorry I misunderstood I assumed it was for Mil, it will be fine just have a list, can you not use them online put a code in our something?

TeapotCollection · 28/11/2025 10:50

No you can’t spend them online, I wish!

Have to find the time to go somehow 😫

Think it’s really unreasonable of them to do this though, they could have given a few months instead of a few weeks

You will just have to brave it 😀

I googled about this as my mum just found out that her £121 stamps will be lost if not spent by the end of the year (no notices in store and she only found out because she tried to buy more stamps on 20.12.25). This is unfair rule is penalising the elderly .

caringcarer · 21/12/2025 17:58

If they have not advertised this rule I think a lot of people might get caught out expecting to spend then in January after spending toouch money in December.
