Gym/workout footwear and clothing suggestions

I've joined the gym after years. I have decent running trainers, but I use those outside and want some gym trainers for indoor workouts. No idea where to start really.

Also, I feel very dated with my black leggings.

Id love some recommendations for budget friendly workout gear.

I use my trainers for indoor and outdoor running as I need them for the treadmill.
You won’t be out of place in black leggings, everybody in my gym is in grey and black!
There are all types of people wearing what is comfortable for them, just do the same !

Unfortunately my running trainers get filthy, I live quite rurally and the roads are rubbish , and filthy at this time of year.

Can't help with the shoes, but would recommend Llama Leggings. Huge range of designs, and they have pockets. They've probably got some Black Friday deals at the moment. I love mine.

Running shoes aren’t suitable for weight training (regardless of how clean or muddy they are) because they don’t give you the stability you need when lifting weights. Nike Free Metcom is an example of a training shoe for weight training. If you compare the soles to running shoes you will see how it’s designed to give stability.

If your outside running shoes are a good fit and supportive, can you buy a fresh pair of the same brand/model for inside only? Sports shoes.com often have great trainers at fabulous prices.
I like Matalan for gym gear. I have a few pairs of leggings that have lasted years and washed well.

M&S Good Move is great for leggings & tops for gym as is Sainsbury & Tesco! All budget friendly when you’re starting out .
For trainers I have Nike Metcom which are pretty good for classes, cross training but I’m not a big runner!

Thank you. I do run on the treadmill but only for about 30 minutes. I am mostly using the weight machines atm rather than free weights, but will likely progress to weights as I go along.
