Seen on Google Streetview

I was stalking an ex browsing the streets of The Netherlands on Google Streetview, when I stumbled upon what looks like a woman's body, seemingly about to be disposed of in the freshly-dug flower bed next to it.

It can't be, can it? Nobody would be so brazen as to bury a body in full view of passers-by on a busy road. I'd be tempted to go to Europol except that this is from 2021 and has presumably been spotted by many other people before me.

Still, it is strange! I wonder what it can be?

Think they’re just trying to be arty / dark. It’s just an old tin tub with a mannequin in being used as a planter.

There's loads of these, mainly kids seeing the street view car coming who position themselves to look like they've been run over by a car.

Ah yes, I thought it was a wheelbarrow but on closer inspection I can see it's some kind of planter, albeit with a lot of dead plants in it!

But how do people know when the Google streetview car will visit their neighbourhood? I can understand kids positioning themselves as if they've been run over when they see a streetview car approaching, but the scene in the photos would have required some preparation, such as acquiring a shop mannequin, and time to arrange it.

I think you can look up somewhere the dates and times the car will be coming round.

I remember once having a nosey at some of the old streets I used to haunt as a teenager and spotted an ex boyfriends dad putting the bins out 😆

I realised just this week that the current Google Earth satellite image of our house was taken on or very close to our 2023 wedding day (because of specific things in the garden and the cars on our drive). It made me smile.

Actually, this thread has made me remember the camera car came round our street a couple of months back and DH saw it coming out the window and ran outside waving his arms about. I’ve had a look and it’s been updated and he now looks like a right muppet on street view 😂

My son did this holding up our cat. Looks a right prat!

My friend didn't know it was coming, and was caught on it outside a pub having a fag.

His wife had thought he'd given up, so was not happy.

They blur faces, so he must have been recognisable some other way.

Yes, his very recognisable jacket outside his local with an equally recognisable friend. It was when it first started , so everyone was checking round their local area.

Another friend was riding a bike, she was recognisable by her hair.
