How long before you start to worry - flu?

My DD is 17 and has come down with flu. It started on Saturday but she was okay until Monday and since then she has barely been able move. I'm giving her fluids and paracetamol on a regular basis. She has eaten very small amounts. I attempted to get her up today but she was back to bed within 20 minutes as she was sweating profusely. She is asleep again now.

This is somewhat complicated by the fact she is 9 weeks pregnant. She is due for a termination on Monday but I'm wondering if this is the reason she has been floored so badly. Her siblings have had a lesser version and they recovered quite quickly.

Should I be doing more? I have never seen her so I'll.

Oh gosh the poor thing. I think it's likely the pregnancy makes her flu more severe, yes. Keep a very close eye. Any chest pain reported?

Flu is terrible. Id expect her to be in bed feeling rubbish for at least a week. No point trying to get her up. She'll need to rest. Just keep up with the paracetamol and fluids. I had it recently and found ginger, lemon and honey tea really soothing and also nightnurse helped me sleep. Hope she feels better soon.

How is she OP?

🙄

Hope she’s feeling better OP. Pregnancy reduces your immunity and reserves. What a rotten time, poor girl.

Pregnancy could be a coincidence - I've had bad flu twice (when not pregnant), and in both cases I could barely crawl to the toilet. I was in bed capable of nothing for days. Horrible.
