YouTube saving the day? How much impact does IT have on daily life?

Fixed my washing machine last week by watching a YouTube video (it was a very specific thing to my make and model). Twenty years ago, it would have required an expert, call-out fees, and a morning waiting in.

Now parked at a car park, and the couple next to me have just fixed their car from a YouTube video and canceled the AA.

Just wondering if anyone had similar but maybe more spectacular wins from YouTube or just internet information in particular, as it brought Lorenzo's Oil to mind.

Yes! Fixed door handles, learned to cut hair (not expertly but people do say I do good job on myself and dd) fixed washing machine, fixed dishwasher, fixed blinds.
