Pain at the bottom of my right rib cage.

This is my 7th week of having flu and a cough.
In the early hours of this morning I started with a sharp pain which is going into my back at the bottom of my rib cage on the right side. Paracetamol is just about helping me.
I'll get an appointment with the GP tomorrow.
Has anyone got any suggestions on helping me to get through tonight.
I'm not ill enough to go to a&e.

I don't know what it could be but my similar pain turned out to be pleurisy which became intercostalitis and is still there (over 10mths now) but less sharp.
I found heat to help enormously. I had a heat pad which I used all the time. And when it was at its worst only co-codamol worked.
But definitely get it checked.

I second heat as pain relief. Also ibuprofen gel might help if it’s muscular or a rib fracture from the coughing.
