Nest

I have a Nest thermostat in my rented flat and it recently stopped working because they've pulled the software support for older models so I can now only turn the heating on manually with the thermostat as opposed to using the app remotely/ to create schedules.

Has anyone found a workaround for this? It's a pain in the backside as the house will stay cold unless someone is physically home to turn the heating on. I thought I'd still be able to use it via Alexa but that doesn't work either.

It belongs to my landlord, not me and I can't reaaly afford to replace it and have someone install a newer model, LL wont as it technically still works and I do have heating.

Op , I literally picked one from amazon a couple of days ago (from amazon not a seller) and it was on sale for about £121, could you send the link to your landlord to see if they are willing to replace it now its on offer.

Op sorry I made a mistake.. its the hives on sale not nest. My hubby just pointed this out to me now. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thanks @Howwilliknow122

I will check it out anyway- I'm guessing if it all needs replaced it won't matter if it's Nest or something similar that does the same thing.

I mean my husband fits them all the time for customers and he says they are very good. But good luck. I hope your landlord does the right thing and gets you one.
