Canterbury travel

Agree - Canterbury Travel. They seem expensive but they are amazing & to be fair, everything is included so no need to pay for any extras whilst there - you get long enough with all the excursions so no additional payments to ‘upgrade’ required.

What’s the Santas like with Canterbury?

Where would you choose to stay with Canterbury if you had a 5 year old child with you, that has mild sen needs.

We stayed in Luosto in a cabin so had our own space.
However, the restaurant is loud and busy. The coach is on a schedule which you would have to stick to.

DS was 5, it’s all set up for children but it is very tiring

Couldn’t help notice your username. Do you like cats and Lego? 😁

how tight is the Canterbury schedule?

What do you mean by tight @Treeforme? They pack a lot in, but we never felt rushed & didn’t spend an age waiting around, so it all runs perfectly to schedule. The bus journeys are always entertaining too with the singalongs.

Plus the Santa is amazing - so real! The whole thing is superbly magical!

We flew from Gatwick to Rovaniemi and stayed in a fab log cabin (complete with your own sauna) in Luosto.

I meant schedule yes. I’m contemplating ruka /loutso and don’t know which one. Also what’s the oldest does everyone think would enjoy?

Yes love cats and Lego. Also love Northern Exposure, so hybrid name.

From memory (DS13 now!)
Arrive, collect snowsuits and boots, dinner, bed
Day 1- breakfast and then onto coach by 9, no time to go back to the cabin.
Activity 1, lunch, activity 2, back for downtime, dinner, bed
Day 2 was the same but it was a gala dinner
Day 3- morning playing in the snow, back to airport via Christmas village for shopping.
The activities were:
Santa’s post office and elves house
Reindeer farm and sleigh ride
Husky farm and ride
Actual Santa meet with some time on skidoos
There was also time for sledging.
It’s really well organised, utterly magical and we loved it! The elves are fab.
The only thing was the food wasn’t great. DS is picky and I had packed a load of food so took him a packed lunch every day which was a lifesaver!

Thankyou so much for your lengthy reply. I’m going to take my time to read and come back 🙂
