Jackie, Patches, Blue Jeans, Just Seventeen (with a quarter of midget gems, which I always ate too quickly never learned)

Once I was an actual grown-up I bought the occasional Cosmo and Marie-Claire, and for several years New Woman.

I have in my head there was one called Red, but I'm not sure why...

Red is still available!

I loved so many from late teen onwards. Elle, Sugar, Company Magazine, Glamour, More. Real. The 90s were the golden era of Magazines..

lingmerth · 22/11/2025 23:41

As a child I read June and school friend then Jackie as a teenager.

The Beano and The Dandy when I was a kid, then Kerrang! as a teenager. Then I got obsessed with New Scientist for a bit in my early twenties. I've not touched a magazine in over 10 years now though..

minipie · 22/11/2025 23:45

Never bought any. I used to read my friends’ when I went to theirs. Just realised that probably makes me a CF.

Toddlerteaplease · 22/11/2025 23:46

Shout, Sugar, Mizz, Just 17.

DappledOliveGroves · 22/11/2025 23:47

How has nobody mentioned Sky Magazine?! I read it religiously in the mid-90s and can still remember chunks of the articles verbatim. I bought a few at an extortionate price from eBay around a decade ago and love re-reading them. Wish I had more of them.

CalliopePlantain · 22/11/2025 23:50

Kerrang! And Metal hammer- you got a free CD with most issues. Was a teen in the mid 90s

One of my biggest laments for my daughters is that they’ll never know the true joy of getting a free lippie or eyeshadow with a mag or reading the Photo Stories and embarrassing confessions. Some of those stories have stuck with me to this day 😆

Or the joy of cutting out bits and pieces from different mags and making weird and wonderful collages.

PONY Magazine

That's just reminded how much I I loved the Pony magazine. I was desperate for a pony and never got one. I used to have my whole wall covered in the pull out posters.

XenoBitch · 23/11/2025 00:18

NME, Aliens comic, and a Star Trek TNG poster magazine. I shared a bedroom with my sister. She had boy band posters on her side of the wall, and I had Picard and Data.

TwoOneEyedTigers · 23/11/2025 00:36

I started with Mandy, Bunty and the occasional Beano from about age 8. Then at about age 12 I moved on to Jackie and Fab 2008.
