Discoloured teeth - just appeared. Emergency?

Photo pending.

My son noticed one of his front teeth was quite discoloured this morning.

Over the course of the day the discolouration has spread and us now across four teeth.

He is meticulous about cleaning/flossing and using mouthwash, and goes to the dentist every six months. Last time, they identified some gum disease, and suggested the mouthwash. He's been using Corsydol(?)

He's really worried that this is going to spread and he will lose his teeth.

Is this something that would warrant trying to get an emergency dental appointment tomorrow? He's got a day off work tomorrow, but back at work from Sunday.

Corsodyl stains teeth, I did the same.

dentist will be able to polish them up

Could it be the Corsodyl? Surely 4 teeth cannot have died in one go!

Yes, it will be the mouthwash. I had to use it after I had my wisdom tooth out and my dentist said to do it after flossing but before brushing or it would stain.

Obviously we can’t see his teeth, or the extent of the discolouration, but Corsodyl is well known for causing brown staining.

I think one of the ingredients binds to tannins in tea, coffee or alcohol.

Echoing pp. It's the corsodil

I can't help but I thought that was a photo of the op for a moment

Thank you so much. That will really put his mind at rest.

He's booked himself a hygienist clean on his next day off after tomorrow.
