Beautiful signs of children in your home

What are some of the beautiful signs of little people’s lives in your home?

In our home there’s a train track running through the hall leading to a castle made of magnet tiles populated by various little figures. One windowsill has been designated the Sticker Window and there are shiny little stickers all over it- achievements from nursery or from trips to the dentist. There are mucky hand and nose prints on the window. The Yoto player is still jingling away from earlier this morning and there are blankets pegged up around his room to make dens.

Random lego people on shelves. Taskmaster-style tasks hidden around the house (‘Be the best mummy in the world. Your time starts now’ 😍). Football kit draped everywhere. Crumbs on the sofa and empty packets under the bed. A rubber spider that likes to ‘hide’ in our shoes.

I love being a parent. Lovely thread @Howsweetisthenight

There is the slinky that belongs on the coffee table it seems. There is also a magnifying glass that lives in the living room for when the tv needs to be inspected up close. Also there is usually a partially deflated balloon somewhere that must not be thrown away until either popped or shrivelled up completely. Sometimes with a face drawn on it.
No matter how show home clean my house is, these things are there.

My DGD 7 has drawn gingerbread men on the glass in our back door(window chalk) saving her grand designs for other windows until nearer Xmas💕

A constant and variable pile of ‘live’ colouring, artwork, craft works, tools, pens, pencils and/or books on a corner of our dinner table by a kids chair and a high chair next to each other.

Especially wonderful reminder that 6 years ago there were no kids, just a void at the end of a long and tiring journey of yearning for them. And now they’re here. And so is their constant pile of creativity 😂

What a wonderful thread OP, thanks for the nudge of gratitude ✨

I think this is my all time favourite thread on mumsnet, thank you OP!

Currently two little boys (6&3) enjoying breakfast in bed beside me, halfway down the bed is a Power Rangers sword that has possibly been there all night, my husband's bedside table has a 'world's best daddy' piece of artwork along with 2 kids books, my side has a half eaten mini bag of haribo and some kids reading books. There's a small basket of little lost socks waiting to find their pair perched on the bottom of the bed. Next door is a playroom with their current pride and joy, a Christmas tree they decorated with Grinch decorations, also playdoh we forgot to put away last night 😬

There are random little lego figures, various Transformers toys, numerous cups of half drank water and many pairs of little shoes scattered around the house plus little socks that the dog has stolen from their feet to be found in the strangest places.

In the landing there's a doll house where superheroes and the original dolls live happily together. Their favourite sticks and a scooter sit next to where their little coats are hanging by the front door.

In the kitchen the cabinets are covered in their artwork, there's a cupboard full of their own wee plates, bowls, cups and cutterly and the fridge is covered in alphabet magnets, drawings, certificates, photos and our summer to do list is also still there. The door frame to the kitchen is marked in sharpie with their heights from each birthday and first days of each school year.

Little fingers prints and smudges are on the sofa and most doors, door frames and windows and there are little steps and kid toilets in the bathroom/downstairs toilet.

My house is never tidy and I wouldn't change it for a thing!

I love the picture you’ve painted. I’m lying in bed with a cup of tea at the moment. I can smell bacon cooking and hear a constant stream of imaginary play chat from my son. He’s clattering his trains around in the hall and making up little stories and dialogue. I love Sundays. Everything will be slow today.

Every room has something.

Tiny bus people have been discarded along their bus route in the living room whilst the bus is parked near the kitchen. There is an encampment of cuddly toys that have taken over an armchair and turned it into a snuggle corner. There is a tub in the bathroom with a smiley plastic whale and an equally cheerful crab bobbing along in it. There are stickers ranging from Halloween witches to diggers on the bedroom mirror alongside a little sticky nose print. There is a little room full of half finished puzzles on the floor.

Definitely not a show home but every room makes me so grateful.
