Have you ever eaten an entire jar of Nutella?

In one sitting?

I made Nutella and toast and licked the Nutella off the knife. It reminded me that a colleague once told me her once a month treat was eating an entire tub of Nutella.

I think I’d manage it but would feel very unwell the next day!

No, because I don't have an eating disorder.

suki1964 · 20/11/2025 20:36

No - but I cant have it in the house because I do over eat it, over and above proper food

TheIncredibleBookEatingManchot · 20/11/2025 20:37

Yes, or it might have been a similar spread, when I was about 19 and my eating was somewhat disordered. I think it was probably the only thing I ate that day.

I felt pretty sick afterwards.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 20/11/2025 20:38

Eww, no. I can’t think of anything worse

LeavesTrees · 20/11/2025 20:39

I became a bit addicted to it when I first started buying it and ate an entire small jar of it with breadsticks over the course of a day. I didn’t do it again though and don’t really buy it much anymore.

TransAdmiralsAreAdmirals · 20/11/2025 20:41

Yes. When I was a student I remember holing up for a long weekend to work on my dissertation and one of my 'get-me-through' snacks was a jar (drinking glass size) of Nutella which I ate in one sitting. Admittedly a long sitting (over the course of a day), but yeh. I think I also picked my way through a jar of anchovies that weekend. I don't see a problem.

alecks · 20/11/2025 20:42

I used to eat a 200g jar regularly, over 1000 calories in it. It never made me feel unwell. I was a greedy fat bastard. My life has changed thanks to WLI Blush

CombatBarbie · 20/11/2025 20:46

Have done it on more than one occassion when I've ran out of chocolate. Don't have an eating disorder and am not overweight.

CalmShaker · 20/11/2025 20:46

I once ate an entire tub of neopolitan ice cream. The old style rectangular box too, not the dinky little tubs

Pedallleur · 20/11/2025 20:50

Not as good as Bonne Maman, M&S Italian Hazelnut spread or Gails Choc/Hazelnut spread which is 60% hazelnuts

Zelda93 · 20/11/2025 20:54

Ye I used to regularly eat the small jars in one sitting.. my small glasses in the cupboard are all old Nutella jars 😂😂

blackrabbitwhiterabbit · 20/11/2025 20:57

Over two days, yes.

H202too · 20/11/2025 20:58

yes and also that one that used to be mixed with peanut butter. Maybe I did have an eating disorder.

henlake7 · 20/11/2025 21:17

No I couldn't. Even with a history of BED, I think it's the texture. Too gloopy for me to eat by the jarful!

Davros · 20/11/2025 21:31

I never even eaten a spoonful of it 🤮

AmberSpyware · 20/11/2025 22:35

Yes, also back when I was suffering from disordered eating

We have it in the house for pancakes. I do have a few spoonfuls, sometimes when I want something sweet and don’t have any biscuits in but I tap out at 3.

i don’t know how I used to eat the whole jar

i still probably could if you paid me, but I would feel quite ill

Zippidydoodah · 20/11/2025 22:37

Never in one sitting, but I am partial.

Since when has the occasional overindulgence been an eating disorder, though?

Sweetiedarling7 · 20/11/2025 22:40

Yes several times.
A jar of Nutella does not an eating disorder make.

RisenWhine · 20/11/2025 22:41

An entire tub?! I’ll admit.. sometimes as a treat I’ll get a flat teaspoon of Nutella and sit and lick that for a few minutes while watching tv 🤣 even that is far too sickly

OrangesCinammonIvy · 20/11/2025 22:44

The very thought makes me feel ill.
Imagine it coming out the other end? Maybe it's just me but it would cause me severe issues in the bathroom.

7catsisnotenough · 20/11/2025 23:50

I used to keep teaspoons and a jar of Nutella in my glove box for when I was running between jobs and had no time for a proper lunch! Quick park up, sneaky couple of spoonfuls and on to my next job... wouldn't recommend it but it got me through the days!

wandawaves · 20/11/2025 23:51

Yes, many times.
But it does come in many different jar sizes. So i should specify- not one of the giant ones 😆

Are you me?

I could have written your post word for word.

duckfordinner · 21/11/2025 01:00

Yes. When I was a sleep deprived, depressed breast feeding single mum to a 6 month old. I was so low on energy- Nutella kept me going. I was addicted . Only stopped when my teeth start to hurt and my friends got alarmed by my Nutella habit.

Elbowpatch · 21/11/2025 01:18

No. I recently chucked a nearly full jar of Nutella I found lurking at the back of the pantry. It’s best by year was 2012. Nobody in this house has a sweet tooth.
