Stone Roses and Primal Scream. It’s just so bloody sad life is very unfair sometimes. His twins are only 13 and their mum died two years ago.

great memories of living in Manchester in the late 80’s such good music about I don’t think we will see an era like that again. Happy days x

Yes RIP Mani.

Fools gold was a masterpiece from the 80/90s, mainly because of his bass. And that was just one of many.

I had pint with him in Galway many years ago, he was a very cool guy, RIP.

Gutted.

I was lying in bed having a Stone Roses retrospective last night and ended up reading about them, stuff I already knew and things I didn't. I hadn't known his wife had died 2 years ago. Was just revelling in the sound of my teens. I remember hearing I Wanna Be Adored as a 14 year old and it just grabbed me by the soul. Mani's bass gets you straightway and doesn't let you go.

Then to hear he'd died this afternoon. Just devastating. I feel for his boys so much.

RIP Mani

RIP Mani. Thoughts are with his children.

He was an incredible talent and made the music scene in England for me growing up. The Stone Roses were my favourite band and it is hard to describe how that distinctive sound felt back then - it was magical.

I loved The Stone Roses and Primal Scream, but especially The Roses. I still listen to them now, they remind me if being 20 something with a bad boy boyfriend. Great days.

Really sad news

Never forget hearing Fools Gold for the first time when it was released. Changed everything that I listened to.
That first album is my favourite album ever.
RIP

I was at a club on NYE and they played the full version of Fools Gold. Heaven.

Listening in bed to The Stone Roses. The sound defined my teens and early 20s. Saw the ‘final’ gig at Reading festival. Tonight my heart is a little sad.

A fellow red who you'd bump into at games, always a friendly, funny, proper manc bloke living his best life.

Hope we pay him a decent tribute on Monday night.

RIP Mani ❤️

To me debut Stone Roses album is the best debut album ever released. I was 18 when I first heard Fool’s Gold and I remember being really proud that they were a Manchester band because they were just so incredible.

Also I’m a Utd fan and hearing This Is The One every time the players come down the tunnel at Old Trafford still gives me spine tingles. RIP Mani and thanks for everything.
