Visiting for the first time this weekend ( Howard Jones concert!). Looking for recommendations on what to do during the day on saturday eg a museum, a good indian restaurant for early evening meal, and any no-go areas? We wont have a car. Thank you!

As you’ll be going on the train or bus you’ll be within walking distance of the city centre. You could go to the King Richard museum. There is the High Cross shopping centre with a range of restaurants.
Jewellery Wall museum is also walkable but not sure of the opening timings on the weekend.

Definitely the King Richard III museum and the cathedral next door where he’s laid to rest. There are some lovely restaurants round there too. The old Guildhall round the corner’s worth a visit if you have time and a wander round St Martin’s. St Martin’s lodge is a fab place to stay (it’s owned by the cathedral) and we loved the meal we had at Sonrisa (Argentinian) nearby and the breakfast at The Merchant of Venice.
