I was thinking the other day I feel a bit sorry for the voiceover woman. I heard another Jet2 advert with her in it (not sure if it was before or after THE advert), and her voice was toned down and so different.

I find that ad so irritating that I mute it - and if I wanted a holiday, Jet2 would be the last place I would look.

It’s also been used for very awful holiday moments like fighting on planes.

I've been aware of this since earlier this year, but it's not positive it actively puts me off jet2 which I associate as a chavvy brand selling overpriced holidays anyway. I have been on a jet2 holiday sadly.

I flew with Ryanair recently and was amused that they were playing it as we were boarding. It took a minute to realise I wasn't on a Jet2 plane and lots of people started commenting about it.

But Jet2 have a very good reputation anyway within package holidays. They were excellent and flexible during covid and sell a wide range of holidays including many that would be indistinguishable from MN approved naice villas and boutique hotels. It's been decades since 'a package holiday' automatically meant 3 star AI in Benidorm.

I went on one last year. I was quite impressed, to be honest. I also use them fairly regularly for flights only and would say they are one the better budget airlines.

From a customer service perspective, they dealt with the covid chaos extremely well.

I've found their flight only to be absolute extortion. They price flights to make the packages more tempting. I use ryanair (who are also very expensive now) and easyjet. If easyjet fly to a location I generally use them as they are the best price. I just won't go if the flight times are shit but I can often make it work.

Jet2 used to be excellent for flights before they took on Thomas Cook routes and increased their package business.

On the beach is better value for similar packages. Tui if you want to overpay often have great flights to the most convenient airports but I cannot stomach the cost.

I went to Lanzarote a couple of weeks ago for under £100 return with jet2 including 2 cabin bags, which I thought was pretty good. We've also been to Malaga and Mallorca for similar prices. Good flight times too, out in the morning but not too early and back in the late afternoon so you still get some time on the last day but aren't too late home
