Again in my attic - honestly, the same time each year. Three companies have been out and none of them can ascertain how they are getting in but suspect they're going down by my fence next to an extension. Tricky place to get to so I'll need to get the fence removed. In the meantime, they've just used poison so I'm doing it myself

I've got the animal friendly boxes outside but I need to put some in the attic - I'm not very mobile due to two hip replacements - I've got the blocks of poison - is it ok to literally chuck a couple in each corner on the attic or do they have to be in the containers?!

I’ve had the same issue every winter for years. I go into the attic every few weeks and put poison down. The problem is they die in the walls and smell. Same issue no one can figure out how they’re coming in. It’s horrible and embarrassing, I live in a very clean house and it makes me feel like people will assume it’s dirty 😩

I would use something like one of these boxes, if you put a block loose a rat may carry it off and leave it outside where a dog or cat may find it.

Thank you - good point about the boxes - I'll get a couple for the attic and slide them into place!

Definitely make sure you use an appropriate box, owls can die from secondary poisoning caused by eating rats/mice that have ingested bait and crawled off to die.
