.... give a name other than your own at Costa, Starbucks, etc? If so, is it because you get fed up spelling your own name? Or something you would like to be called? Or something ridiculous because it amuses you? Or maybe trying out a name you are considering for a baby?

.Yes. My Starbucks app is set up with such an unusual name that the staff at my local remember me and think it’s my real name. It’s from playing a game during a holiday where we all used different names in every Starbucks to see who could come up with the wildest. One just stuck for me!

In the days when we'd stop at service stations....we have been Brienne and Tyrion, Nadine and Boris, Bill and Monica.

I just refuse to give mine. It's weird.

Yes, my name's tricky so I give them something easier like Kate or Anne.

Very rarely buy one, but the last time I did, I gave my real name. It does have more than one spelling but it doesn't bother me how they spell it.

I do it on holiday, as my usual name isn’t really a proper name - so I end up with all sorts of random things! My husband and I both have holiday Starbucks names to make it easier 😂

They always get my name wrong, and it didn't even occur to me to do this. Genius.

Yes because people often mishear my name. It’s not particularly complicated but it sounds like another name

No. I have an unusual name that is easy to spell so it means my order never gets mixed up with someone else's. TBH it has never occurred to me to give another name.

It’s only in Starbucks I have ever been asked for my name. I did used to give a fake, easier to spell name, but since using the app I no longer have to speak it out loud as it transfers to their till when they scan it so it’s my actual name now.

Not on purpose, but when severely sleep deprived & wrangling a toddler answered “mummy” when asked for my name.
