Peri-menopausal anxiety and ("theoretically") sourcing something 'edible' that may help...lp...

I'm at my wits end.

Nothing chills me out. I've had the most debilitating anxiety for over a year, for no absolutely obvious reason.

I'm mid 40s, and have a family - wonderful DH & fab teenager - both pull their weight.

I have an admittedly fast-paced and stressful-at-times job but nothing i haven't been able to handle before now and I enjoyed it before the anxiety.

We're comfortable financially and enjoy nice things, hols etc. V lucky that our family and wider family are generally in good health.

So no other stress over and above the normal things that people worry about, and luckier than many, which I don't take for granted.

So a year ago, I could only really pin the very sudden, unexpected anxiety on hormones. There was no other explanation in my mind.

Saw the doctor - they agreed and started me on HRT. I've tried a variety of patches/strengths/gels and sprays over the year and nothing is touching it!

I've lost weight, I get out in the fresh air most days, I meditate, do breathwork exercises & yoga. I'm reading several CBT books on anxiety and am considering some form of counselling. I'm sparingly using CBD oil under my tongue when I really need it (once or twice a week). I've stopped having caffeine. Have tried Propranalol but it didn't feel good. I do still drink - not excessively but I would be sad to cut out the occasional drinks I do have, and I also vape a low nic strength but have done for a long time.

So what else is going to help?

I was thinking it might be nice on an evening to be very gently stoned, just to chill out. Me and DH used to love a cheeky spliff back in the day but haven't done it for 20 years and I wouldn't want to smoke it now. So I'm thinking gummies, specifically the active ingredient ones. But theoretically where would one get hold of such a product?!

Any suggestions would be hugely welcomed - I need something to have an effect - I'm going round the bend!

(Oof, sorry that was so long!)

Does your teenager know anyone that might theoretically be able to help?! That would be my first thought-unless you don’t want them to know obvs. Neither of mine did drugs as far as I know but they both knew who could get them some at school if they’d wanted to!

Hmm. Perhaps, but I wouldn't be comfortable with my teenage being my conduit, unfortunately!

Have tried searching several hashtags on social media- TT, FB marketplace etc but nothings really showing up. Wish I moved in some slightly darker circles!
