Does anyone here go for regular wash & blowdrys at the hairdressers?

A regular wash&blow-dry - it never featured in my life before. Ever. The only time I would get a wash and blow dry would be part of another service like a haircut or hair trim.

Last year I started to get my hair dyed which I never did before.

I like my hair dresser. I think he is sick a cool dude. He is so flamboyant and he uplifts my spirits big time.

The week before last I managed to find an opening in his online booking system for last week and I booked a mid week treat for last week of a wash and blow dry.

It was something that I loved so much. I loved spending time in his company and he made me feel amazing.

I got a wash and blow dry on the Tuesday morning. The weather was disappointing. It was so wet. But I felt good afterwards. I

Now I am thinking I would love that to feature somewhat regularly.

I see our schedules might align somewhat this Friday. He has some slots open this week on Friday. It looks like I might have a gap in my schedule of Friday. It is something I think I would love to do.

I felt weird doing it last week though. To make such a long journey in the pouring wash for something I could do myself at home too although he does it better.

A lot of what he advertises online is colour. I don't want to take from his larger services.

Anyone here get regular wash and blowdrys?

Or anyone here a hairdresser that does regular wash and blowdrys? Do you like the service or hate them?

You are way overthinking this, you have a crush on him?

Onefortheroad25 · 17/11/2025 18:22

Do you fancy him? Have a crush? Sounds more about him than your hair.
I only get blow drys if I’m going somewhere special. Or as part of getting my highlights/trim every few months.

This really reminds me of another poster who asked exactly the same question and also seemed to have a thing for their gay hairdresser.

don’t give this any headspace, I beg you. Tradespeople and businesses do not book services they don’t want to provide

I get a wash and blow dry twice a month. I’m mid 50s with post menopausal hair and it’s a treat. I can’t do anything about my turkey neck but I can have good hair half the time. I love it!

I’m not a hairdresser, but mum has been one for 40 years. She has several regular clients who come in every week just for a wash and blow dry.
She has that option listed on her “available services” for a few time slots throughout the week.
If your hairdresser is available for that, he’ll have it as an option on his booking platform 🤷🏻‍♀️

My friend gets a weekly blow dry. If you can afford it, why not

PearlTeapot · 18/11/2025 19:20

You're overthinking it. He's got a slot for it. Go for it!

I'd have it every week if I could afford it.

I don't have any advice for you but this made me remember, last time I was having a trim the lady next to me (elderly) was having a purple rinse and I've never seen anything more bizarre in my life. And I'm a traditionalist.
