Where to go to get advice on EHCP annual review?

I’m posting here for traffic. I’m very stressed over my DD’s Annual Review that’s fast approaching. I could do with some advice that’s personalised to her situation, rather than the generic advice online. I’m happy to pay if necessary. Does anyone have any recommendations on who to go to? I can never get through to SOSSEN or Ipsea on the phone. I just don’t know what to do for the best. Thanks.

Look up sunshine support - they are independent, impartial and amazing at what they do.

Sendco at school should be the first port of call although I get that the relationship and knowledge isn't always their!

I'm an EHC Practitioner for local authority, formally sendco in mainstream and specialist.

Happy to help?

Hi, thanks for your response. Would it be ok to pm you? Totally understand if not.

Plenty of groups on Facebook where you can get advice. Ipsea is hard to get through but just have to be persistent

Thanks for your response. I don’t tend to have a lot of luck with Facebook groups, so thought I’d ask here. I’ll try Ipsea again.

Sen parent support group on facebook. An amazingly knowledgable bunch of parents!

We used Chris at SEN Achieve. He was honestly fabulous and really knew his stuff, worth every penny we paid (which was very reasonable!) and was key in getting our son a special school place.

What area are you? I know a good company in Kent. But think they do phone calls too.

Tygertiger · 18/11/2025 22:30

Your local area must have a SENDIAS service to support you and by law they are impartial and there to support parents. Look on your LA Local Offer for their details. They are generally very good.

24Dogcuddler · 18/11/2025 22:31

Is it a first review or are you trying to ask for more support?
Your advice is just one ( very important ) aspect. If things are going well it should be more of an information sharing celebratory child centred review. Other professionals should be advising or giving input.
Have you looked on your LA local offer for parent groups or other sources of support. Sorry you’ve not been able to get through to any helplines. Do they have an email contact?

Would you mind sharing their details?

Another vote for your local SENDIASS . It’s free . Ours are brilliant (which is good because our council are 💩)

ThisLittleLightOfMinee · 18/11/2025 23:07

My sendiass are awful so unfortunately they aren’t all good. Just be careful as they work for the LA at the end of the day, I prefer ipsea.

Greenpeanutsnail · 21/11/2025 09:28

Thank you for all your excellent suggestions and words of advice. I’m following up on a couple of them. Thank you.
