Is your birthday similar to your families?

Ballabingballbongdoosh · 17/11/2025 06:31

My grandma had all of her children in September ( different years 😅 )

My mum had all of us different months BUT our birthday, are 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 27th

My children's birthdays are very close to mine, we are November, December, January AND they are the 10th, 11th and should of been 12th but had to be induced so ended up being the 25th

Obviously most of us have our periods around the same time every month so it makes sense that siblings have similar dates .... but.... none of my friends children's birthdays are similar like mine and my families 😅

Just interested in what other people's are like

Yes, my mums 3 sisters birthdays are within 4 days of each other. My sister, brother and me have our birthdays 3 days in a row. My Husbands birthday is the same day as his mum, my dad and my sisters husband. My husbands brothers birthday is the following day.

DappledThings · 17/11/2025 07:11

My dad and I are 9 days apart, my mum and brother are the same day. But only my mum actually likes celebrating her birthday so it's not really noticeable how close they are

AndSoFinally · 17/11/2025 07:18

All three of my children were born on a Thursday, as was I

I'm not sure it does make sense that siblings birthdays are close in date of the month - periods restarting after birth wouldn't be the same sort of time it was before, unless by coincidence.
My brother and sister are neighbours in birth month but mine is 4 months away so not particularly close. Theirs are also at the start of the month, mine is at the end (although like you my mum was induced only with me.. I should have been the following month!)
I only have one child so can't test the theory with my own yet! I am due in the Summer though, with my first born in Winter. He was 21st and I'm due mid month, so it could possibly land near 21st.

CanYouHereMeRoar · 17/11/2025 07:35

My dad, two older brothers and I are born within a month of each other in the spring, we joke our youngest brother was a mistake as his birthday is in autumn😂

DD birthday is two days after my twin nephews, and my niece and nephew (siblings) are born a day apart.

Mumofteenandtween · 17/11/2025 07:37

Both of mine were due on the 31st of the month (different months) and I went into labour with them both on the 26th. One took much longer to be born tan the other though. 😂

GauntJudy · 17/11/2025 07:39

We're all quite spread out, it must be expensive having so many birthdays at once OP!

GameOfJones · 17/11/2025 07:40

My birthday, DH's birthday and DD1's birthday are all within the same week. I also share my birthday with two of my cousins. DD2 has the same birthday as her grandpa!

In August we have eight family birthdays spread across various aunts, cousins, nephews etc so that's a busy month for sending cards!

I do wish our immediate family birthdays were more spread out. It's expensive for presents and feels like everything is in one part of the year.

Laiste · 17/11/2025 07:42

Yes, i'm end of Nov, my 4 kids are Jan, Jan, Feb, March

Spring must make me frisky 🤣

DemonsandMosquitoes · 17/11/2025 07:43

My uncle and his two parents all have the same birth date.

shuddacuddadidnt · 17/11/2025 07:45

Actually, it doesn't. Your periods aren't dependent on your date of birth. Interestingly, studies have shown that with females in a household, periods sync so they have it at the same time. I believe that the studies were done with nuns, living together in a convent.

On a month by month basis:

May: DD
June: MIL
July: me
Aug: DH
Sept: SIL 1
Oct: Mother
Nov: DIL 2 and FIL
Dec: DS
Jan: father

DD, DH, DS and father were born on 25th!

Feb, March, April are a spring hiatus.

ShiftySquirrel · 17/11/2025 07:50

Me and DBro have the same day, different months eg. both the 10th which kind of makes sense.

My DM has the same day, same month but different year to her sibling, but it's also the date that two of her grandma's died...

HartleyH11 · 17/11/2025 07:55

I have the same birthday as DM. Well over half of the remainder are Sept-Dec. I can only think of 1 that falls in Feb - June period.

That actually sounds like bliss.
Half my family is December. Its a headache and a half.

MyIvyGrows · 17/11/2025 08:14

My friend and her two sisters have five children between them all born in the same week in April, over a span of about seven years. August is clearly a good time of year for them 😆

Dutchhouse14 · 17/11/2025 08:27

Often heard people saying they have a busy month for birthdays, so I think they do often cluster.

Mine and 2 DDs birthdays are all within 2 weeks.
My mum and brother share a birthday and sisters birthday is a week later.
My mums, her sisters and her dad's birthday were also all within a 2 week period.
In our family of 6 we have March, April, April, July, August, September. So we have a cluster of 3 then one a month for a 3 month period, then I have 3 in October for mum, sister and brother, then it goes quiet over winter until end of March.

indoorplantqueen · 17/11/2025 08:28

No we’re all spread out , literally one in every month. I share a birthday with my FIL though.

Isekaied · 17/11/2025 08:29

I have 2 kids.

One was born on 18th October the other 18 April.

Exactly 6 months apart

But me and their dad also have birthdays in October

honeylulu · 17/11/2025 08:31

My two children have birthdays within three weeks of each other and if you include mine they are all within 5 weeks. I could have planned that better! In fact all my parents grandchildren have late Spring birthdays between mid April and early June.

It was funny in the first year of Covid when we used to stand in the back garden chatting to our neighbours over the wall. It's son's birthday would you like a slice of cake? Couple of weeks later, it's daughter's birthday, would you like some cake? Couple more weeks, oh guess what, it's my birthday ... Next time we saw him he turned to husband and said I don't suppose it's your birthday this time? (It wasn't.)

I know several people who have the same birthday as someone else in their family, or just one day different.

BlueWorkDay · 17/11/2025 08:32

DM, DD, DGM, and I were born on the 19th, 24th,, 26th of one month, and the 5th of the next (so within 15 days, over 86 years).

Additionally, Dneice and nephew, and FIL were born on 14th, 16th and 3rd of the same months.

slightlyunimpressed · 17/11/2025 08:33

DB and I have birthdays on the same date, 10 years apart. Me and my siblings all have ‘teen’ birthdays, as do my niblings so there is definitely a bit of a pattern

SeaAndStars · 17/11/2025 08:58

My mum, brother and I all have our birthdays in the same week.
My dad, uncle and cousin on the same day (different years).

1985checkshirt · 17/11/2025 08:59

My parents and siblings all have birthdays in the same month. Mine is 7 months later (I was often made fun of by siblings).

My dc1 was born day after me.

My nieces and nephews birthdays are different months but 11,12,13,14,15 and 16th.

HazzleMcDazzle · 17/11/2025 09:00

DD and DS have the same birthday, which they share with FIL and my Great-Grandmother. My Great Aunt's birthday was the day after.
